Skincare is a way of life to me (lol). No sincerely, having experienced severe acne issues around age 26 (oh dear hormones… euh I mean thank God I am wonderfully made), I’ve been on the hunt for a remedy that would work for my skin. Which I finally found about three years ago, while still leaving in Canada (I’ll share it in a bit, don’t worry). This skin savior was a french pharmacy skincare product. Boom! That is how I started studying (per se) different ways of caring for my skin.
Since moving back to France this year, my skin is delighted with all the nurturing it is receiving. In this post, I’ll focus on French pharmacy skincare products, most of them having a stamp approval they earned through their effectiveness and quality. So here are my top three French pharmacy skincare products.
1 – La Roche-Posay
If you have acne-prone skin, I highly suggest you try Effaclar Duo +. An anti-blemish moisturizer you can use daily. I started seeing results after a month, using it twice a day (morning and evening). My skin’s pH level was improved; therefore, my skin became less sensitive to internal or external change.
Definition: “Potential hydrogen (pH) refers to the acidity level of substances. The pH scale ranges from 1 to 14, with seven considered “neutral.” The lower numbers are acidic, while the upper levels are considered alkaline, or nonacidic.Healthline
You might be surprised to learn that a healthy skin pH is more on the acidic side. With more acidity, your skin can combat harmful microbes and damaging free radicals that might increase the aging process.”
2 – La Provencale Bio
Now that my skin is acne free (except for natural hormonal blemishes here and there), my skincare goal is moisture and glow baby! When I don’t wear makeup, I want my skin to be moisturized ALL day. Nothing irritates me more than dry skin (being extra, ok I’ll calm down). What’s the point of a moisturizer, you need to apply multiple times a day, or have flaky skin by the time you get to your lunch break (which might turn into a lunch date, we never know ladies… and gentlemen while at it).
La Provencale Bio Moisture Balm line is made with 98% natural origin ingredients (100% organic argan oil and jojoba oil, are some of them).
Here is my La Provencale Bio skincare routine:
- Le Baume Radieux Nourrissant – Nourishing Balm (10.89 €)
- L’Eau Micellaire Pureté – Gentle Toner (6.76 €)
- Le Soin de Jouvence Anti-Age Yeux – Anti-aging eye cream (valeur: 13.09 €)
- Le Baume de Jouvence Anti-Age Nuit – Anti-aging Nourishing Balm NIGHT TIME TREATMENT (valeur: 13.09 €) Editor’s favorite
- La Crème de Jouvence Anti-Rides – Anti-aging Nourishing Balm DAY TIME TREATMENT (valeur: 13.90 €)
3 – Luxéol Dry Oil (L’Huile Sèche)
Now this is my skincare secret weapon. Once my face is all moisturized, I apply a dry oil on top such as Luxéol, which is very rich in natural ingredients, to retain moisture even longer. I apply it to my hair, as well as the rest of my body. Excellent product I highly suggest!
Let me know what is your favorite skincare product at the moment. Doesn’t have to be french haha!
